I am fortunate enough to be guiding out of my dream skiff, an East Cape Vantage! This boat, to me, is the most versatile boat I have ever been in. I can run the open water that a lot of the smaller skiffs can't, and can still fish right next to them on the skinniest of flats we have on the Nature Coast. This boat is 19' 2" long and has a beam of  79". This means for my anglers that they have a very comfortable and dry ride, and a very stable platform to fish from. On top of being a fun skiff to ride in, it is also a fishing machine! The draft on this boat is very shallow, 7"-8" with 2 anglers and gear in fact. That allows me to get into the shallowest of places with it, all while being dead quiet while I pole the boat. This is extremely important along in Crystal River because of all the very shallow flats and shorelines that we fish. I have a forward casting platform on the boat to allow my anglers to see the fish farther away from the boat. A lean bar may be added for stability and comfort on the platform for the angler, just in case it is a bit bumpy while we’re fishing for some of the migratory fish offshore of Crystal River and Homosassa. I think you will enjoy your time aboard this very high quality boat!

I proudly work with some great companies that allow me to represent them. Fitzgerald Rods happens to be one of those companies. They build a very high quality, lightweight rod that allows my clients to fish all day long without being fatigued, like some of the other heavier rods in the industry. They offer several different lengths and actions that I utilize on a day to day basis that are crucial for our success on the Nature Coast.
